series of lectures | The future of housing industry - online seminar on 29 October 2020
Assistant Professor Daniel Hall will be speaking on 29 October 2020, 18:00 - 19:30 at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano about the future of housing industry: robotic, autonomous and mass-customized. The Faculty of Science and Technology kindly invites you to the upcoming seminar of the SERIES OF LECTURES.
The housing industry is currently undergoing a new wave of industrialization. Numerous startups have received unprecedented levels of investment in the last five years to develop industrialized and digital processes to increase innovation. This seminar will describe three projects that might further push the housing industry towards innovation. First, the seminar will describe the organization and implementation of the DFAB house, one of the most comprehensive demonstrators of digital fabrication and robotics in architecture to date. Second, the seminar will present the ongoing research behind project No1s1, an ongoing research project to develop a decentralized autonomous house based upon blockchain technology. Finally, the seminar will describe the future research planned for 7DayHouse, a project with ambitions to use virtual reality, computational augmentation, and fabrication-aware design tools to deliver made-to-order homes within one week.
