Inaugural lecture by Professor Daniel M. Hall
In the summer of 2017, the ETH Board appointed him Assistant Professor for Innovative and Industrialized Construction, and now Professor Daniel M. Hall gave his inaugural lecture at ETH Zurich. On March 28, 2018 he spoke on “The Global Construction Industry: Reorganizing Today For Innovation Tomorrow”.
In his research, the award-winning scientist focuses in particular on the question of how the construction industry can be made more productive through systematic innovations. He develops new forms of project management for complex projects as well as new process structures and organizational models. With the appointment of Daniel M. Hall, the Deptartment of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering is reinforcing its position as a link between civil engineering and the construction industry.
The new assistant professorship is made possible with the support of Implenia. The building firm maintains a strategic partnership with ETH Zurich and the ETH Zurich Foundation in the field of innovative and industrial construction. The aim is to further develop the know-how in the construction sciences.
