The educational mission of the Chair of Innovative and Industrial Construction is to prepare the future leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs of the built environment in Switzerland and across the world.

The architecture, engineering, and construction industry often requires work in interdisciplinary teams to solve socio-technical challenges. Our educational philosophy is that project-based learning is the best way to develop critical thinking and prepare students for their future careers in civil engineering. Project-based learning is a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world challenges to build deeper knowledge. Students can be given an extended period of time to explore engaging and complex open-ended questions, problems, or challenges. Through this process, we aim to prepare them for the uncertainty they will face every day as future construction engineers and innovators.
