CHDBE

Swiss Competence Hub for multi-party data integration in the built environment

Not only since the current COVID crisis, the AECO industry is confronted with multiple challenges in the present as well as in the future. In recent years, the chair of Innovative and Industrial Cosntruction has observed that the AECO industry is becoming more and more aware of these challenges and looking for dialogue with academia around possible solutions. However, we also realized that single, isolated solutions rarely lead to the desired transformation that we seek for the industry as a whole.

Therefore, we introduce the new CHDBE: Swiss Competence Hub for multi-party data integration in the built environment. By connecting industry, academic and pioneering organizations, the CHDBE seeks to identify common questions and find tailored solutions for the collective benefit of all participants.

CHDBE Topics

The hub is therefore structured in such a way that collaboration can occur freely between a small group of cutting-edge researchers, industry innovators, and organizational thought-leaders. The intention is not a passing of knowledge from academia but instead a bi-lateral discussion, with peer exchange between industry participants is in the foreground.

CHDBE need

The formulation of the hub has begun with three higher-level themes of representation, decentralization, and platformization. Within these themes, we encourage that participants bring in their own questions and challenges. By developing common technical and theoretical approaches, researchers and industry participants can together discover and work towards a common target. This will occur through the creation of industry-led research projects and/or master theses. All results will be presented and disseminated to all hub participants.

What are the advantages that you have as a participant on this knowledge platform? Through the participation principle and our visibility, you have access to state-of-the-art research and participate in a common solution path. In addition, you ensure your long-term competitiveness and competence by accessing the talent pool of ETH Zurich.
